We are delighted to announce that Beyondly has been shortlisted as a finalist for the categories ‘Health & Wellbeing of its People’ and ‘Best Company to Work For’ in the UK Employee Experience Awards 2020 which reward outstanding initiatives that have improved the world of work
The UK Employee Experience Awards aim to recognise companies who are committed to continually improving the employee experience, through implementing first-rate initiatives and providing an exceptional working environment for their staff to thrive. 2020 marks the 6th year of these awards which provide a platform for companies to showcase their admirable efforts when it comes to appreciating the importance of employees’ happiness and proving how this achieves positive, commercial results.
To be shortlisted in these awards is an honour, particularly as they have been accredited with the Gold Standard from the Independent Awards Standards Council, meeting all 18 criteria to qualify for the highest trust mark possible.
The ‘Health and Wellbeing of its People’ category focuses on the importance of a healthy workforce in achieving business success. The award is for organisations improving business performance through reduced sick leave, wellness initiatives and mental health support. Beyondly implemented a health and wellbeing programme for staff in 2017 which delivers multiple positive business benefits; hence we felt this category was a perfect fit.
Our entry for this category discusses how the health and wellbeing scheme was developed on the back of employee feedback along with the host of benefits staff receive as part of the initiative; including membership to a luxurious wellbeing centre on site, annual sporting challenges entry, opportunity for flexible working and quarterly team building activities, just to name a few. It also outlines the impact and benefits the programme has achieved to date, and the success measures used. Specifically, a few examples of the programme’s positive impact so far are that employee turnover has decreased by over 30%, 75% employees believe the programme has improved morale and the cost of sickness absence per employee has reduced by more than half.
After entering the aforementioned category, we have also been recommended for the ‘Best Company to Work For’ award which is highly exciting and very much ties in with our business ethos of recognising that our employees are our business and creating a stimulating working environment will enable them to achieve great things, as well as deliver numerous organisational benefits. This category is for organisations going the extra mile to create a fulfilling environment, with high engagement and retention scores. It aims to recognise businesses who promote collaboration, learning and open communication, enabling employees to thrive.
