Beyondly become Commercial Affiliate of WRAP's Textiles 2030

Textiles 2030 is the UK’s leading voluntary initiative created to support businesses within the fashion and textiles industry, transition to a more sustainable future, with circular practices in place by the end of the decade

Currently, 711,000 tonnes of post-consumer textiles are discarded in the general waste annually in the UK and 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the fashion and textiles industry (Textiles 2030).

As a commercial affiliate, Beyondly are committed to be a force for good in the textiles circular economy and achieve measurable impact against the targets. Within the Textiles 2030 community we will seek opportunities to use our industry and technical knowledge to mitigate the resource, environmental and carbon impact in textile supply chains. We will engage with and guide consumers, to buy, use and dispose of clothing and textiles products in a way that support a just transition to circularity.

Being a leading B Corp producer compliance scheme and environmental consultancy, Beyondly represent a diverse range of businesses operating within the fashion and textiles industry. Currently, embracing the changes as part of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging, Beyondly are working with their customers to prepare for the EPR schemes yet to implemented, including EPR for Textiles in the UK and internationally.

An EPR scheme for textiles will hold companies accountable for the costs associated with separate collection, sorting and recycling of textiles. The fees that producers pay is determined through "eco-modulation", meaning that they will be adjusted based on the environmental performance of textiles they place on the market. Beyondly recognise the important role they play in supporting their customers, but also the industry and through Textiles 2030, we are able to contribute insights and actively participate in the demonstration of new business models, product design, and citizen engagement.

Engagement with Textiles 2030 aligns with our company vision, ‘to lead, inspire and educate to possibility impact society and environment’ giving us a voice, to help shape the fashion and textiles industry we want to see in the future.
